Two Designs for 10G Links

 

The 10G SFP+ Transceiver series gives you two choices. You can pick the BiDi version or the dual-fiber version. The BiDi version uses one fiber for both send and receive. This saves fiber and cuts down your cable cost. The dual-fiber version uses two fibers. It works with more types of equipment. The 10Gbps SFP+ meets SFF-8431, SFF-8472, and IEEE 802.3ae. It works with 10GBASE-SR, LR, LW, ER, EW, ZR, and ZW. The standard speed is 10.3125 Gbps. The dual-fiber 10Gbps SFP+ can also run at 10.7 Gbps or 11.3 Gbps. The distance range is very wide. You get 300 m, 1.4 km, 10 km, 20 km, 40 km, 60 km, 80 km, and 100 km. There are 31 standard models in the 10Gbps SFP+ family. You can choose a commercial grade (0 to +70°C) or an industrial grade (-40 to +85°C).

 

Low Power and Smart Monitoring

 

The 10G SFP+ Transceiver uses the standard SFP+ package. It supports hot-plug. You can put it into any SFP+ port. The built-in DDM gives you live data. You can see the optical power, module temperature, supply voltage, and bias current. This helps you find problems fast. The short-range 10G SFP+ Transceiver models (300 m to 40 km) use less than 1W of power. The long-range models (60 km to 100 km) use 2W or less. This saves energy in your network. The optical parts are high quality. For BiDi models, the 10G SFP+ Transceiver uses 1270 nm, 1330 nm, 1490 nm, or 1550 nm DFB or EML lasers. The receivers use PIN or APD detectors. For dual-fiber models, the 10G SFP+ Transceiver uses an 850 nm VCSEL for multi-mode. For single-mode, it uses a 1310 nm FP or DFB laser or a 1550 nm EML laser. The extinction ratio can go up to 8.5 dB. The sensitivity goes down to -23 dBm.

 

Use in Data Centers and 5G

 

The 10G SFP+ Transceiver is a core part of 10G fiber networks. You can use it in data centers for server to switch links. You can use it in campus backbones. The 10G SFP+ Transceiver also works for LTE and 5G base station fronthaul and backhaul. It is good for metro networks and cable TV transmission. It also works in storage area networks (SAN).
